New Template (Again!)

The template you see now is my final template until the year ends or until I grow tired of it, whichever comes first. I'm sorry if most of you couldn't keep up with the flurry of skin and layout changes here lately. Choosing a blog template requires a lot of patience, and if you're not a blogging wizard like me when it comes to publishing, then it can really take some time before you can come up with a decent, fully-functional template. I had to collaborate with my tech-savvy friend and we had to adjust our schedules so I can choose this template.

A 'fully-functional template' means its ability to be read on all browsers available out there. Most people are still using IE, and a few have already switched to smarter substitutes like Firefox and Opera. Most of the time, the templates available have selective browser compatibilities. Then there's aesthetics. Which one will I choose? The one that looks good but can't be read across all browsers? For Blogger, there aren't too many good choices for my taste. The one that you see now is really the next best thing to what I really want.

So, there. If you have problems with this template, let me know. Tell me what your browser is, and tell me what's wrong with the layout. I do hope no one complains too much. =)

Dr. Emer ... this is an excellent template. It's easy on the eyes, legible, clear, the font size is good ... things look organized. Great choice!

I have only one recommendation, and that's not theme related, but rather Blogger option related:

Would you consider allowing people who don't have Blogger to sign their comments with their real blog addresses, rather than sham Blogger addresses? I would dearly love to be rid of my old blogger persona. :o)

Oh, Moof. I'd love to do that but I think that means bringing back the anonymous comment option. I tried doing that for a day last time, and I was swamped (literally!) with spam comments from spurious people (or robots?) who were sly enough to post comments on posts I no longer have time to find. I got more than 600 posts here already, and Blogger's email comment notification does not identify the topics where the "spam" comments are littered. Yes, it's a disadvantage, and I've written the Blogger heads about it. I hope they do something about it fast. Thanks for liking this new template. And, about your old Blogger persona...it's ok, Moof. I know who you are. I know you're my friend and that's how it will always be. :)

not that i am pushing about the non blogger persona that moof mentioned...that spam problem is usually taken care by the word verification. i'm saying this because by allowing only blogger commenters, you are limited to them. i'm sure you have readers who would have loved to comment but do not have time and reason to sign up for a blogger account just to comment. just a thought...

as for this new template, i agree about it being easy to read...

Ok, dahil sinabi mo, May. :) Ibinabalik ko na po. Pero kung uulan ulit ng spam, ipagpaumanhin ninyo pero ibabalik ko ulit. Thanks sa inputs. I really appreciate it. :)

pag umulan po ng spam....di ba para yun sa almusal? eh di ihanda na ang fried rice :)

seriously, yeah, just try it and go back if spam will really be a problem...

Hi Doc! I like the new look too. Very easy to read, cool on the eyes.

BTW, regarding the commenting system, I have a new one on my food blog that I am liking because it allows not blogger users to comment without fuss, and the links to each commenter goes directly to their sites rather than their blogger profile. The only thing, is it can't use the word verification function, so comments are moderated instead. I don't know if you have time to do this. If you're interested in this type of commenting system, let me know and i can ask Charles, who designed my skin how he did it. Maybe you can plug it in to yours.

MAY: siguro miss mo na ang fried rice at tuyo, ano! *LOL*

JMOM: Thanks. I've seen your yellow food blog and it looks awesome! Thanks also for the offer to revise the comment system, but I can't get rid of the word verification system since it's my last line of defense against the spam commenters.
