First Friday Five

Several readers have been writing me to request for my recommendations for health and medical websites. I have been planning to put every great website I found so far, but I think doing so in one shotgun affair would probably overwhelm you. So I thought of making every Friday a day when I will post not only the coolest sites I found about health and medicine, but other websites that are also worth your while and will inspire you to learn something new.

For this Friday, here are my top 5 recommendations:
  1. 29 HEALTHIEST FOODS ON EARTH - if you can make it a habit to include 1 or 2 servings of any of these daily, then you can be confident that you are making a conscious effort to be on the healthier side of eating.

  2. TEN NUTRITION MYTHS - does skipping meals help you lose weight? Is brown sugar better than white sugar? Find out and learn from this website.

  3. BREATHING EARTH - find out how our planet breathes. Interesting country numbers on life and death, too. In the Philippines, for example, 1 person dies every 1.2 minutes.

  4. LEARN JAPANESE - learning a new language makes our brains sharper.

  5. CHALLENGE YOUR SENSES - how sharp are your 5 senses? This short quiz will tell you how sharp your senses are. Includes explanations. I think I was lucky to score 19 out of 20 because I did this after a soothing catnap. Tell me what score you got, ok?

I wish everyone a happy, peaceful weekend. Stay healthy!

Nice choice of links. I've been studying Japanese since last year, it's fun and quite difficult but it sure it worth the time and efforts.

Friday Fives are great...I have been doing them for about 10 weeks now. It has grown in readership each week. I almost stopped after the 3rd. week..but then people started asking for them and they have really done well now.

Good idea!
