Stylish, Flirty...and Fertile?

Guys like me should be more observant of overt trendy signs from ladies. What "overt trendy signs" are these?

'Wearing skirts instead of pants. Harnessing oneself with dazzling jewelries and accessories. Putting on more perfume. Having more make-up and cosmetics than usual. Showing more skin (and more cleavage?). Donning classy and swank dresses that will make you suspect they came straight out of the Fashion Channel.

'Nothing to worry about, guys. If you see women displaying the signs above, a new study suggests that they may be in that time of the month when they are ovulating.

As an example, the study says that a woman may usually wear "loose-knit leggings and a tank top," but when her ovulation period comes, she will be seen wearing "a very pretty tank top" and "more jewelry."

The change is most often very subtle, but if you train your eyes guys, you will notice the change. If you're very skilled at playing that "Name-The-Differences" cartoons (next to the crossword) in the daily papers, then I'm certain you can practice observing these subtle changes in lady friends you encounter at work or in school.

Martie Haselton, lead author of the study, had also reported in another study that when women are fertile, they were more likely to flirt and look at attractive men.

The old notion is that, unlike animals which release sex pheromones and change skin color when they are ready to mate, human females are more adept at hiding ovulation. Subtle, maybe. But this study says that if you are attentive and observant enough, you can detect the attenuated changes.

Ovulation info here for reference.

Yikes! I'm the exception to that, I suppose.

so true ito ha... pati complexion, pati sparkle ng eyes, pati mood, sobrang ganda kapag ovulating.

ha ha and if a woman does not show any of these signs anymore anytime of the year, then she is menopausal?

Hey Doc, I've read somewhere that fertile women are more likely to be attracted to the dark, (hairy?) and handsome guys versus the clean, slightly feminine looking guys. Like Ben Affleck versus Matt Damon!

'Haven't heard of that yet, Char. Pero may biologic theory ako --- more virile yung hairy so they will probably ensure survival of the species?

Fascinating post. I definitely feel more affectionate, attractive and attracted to my husband when ovulating, and I expect many women do. Our drives and hormones fluctuate significantly during the month. That could, I'm sure, affect the clothes we choose on a given day.
