Yesterday, I saw this half-page advert in one major daily. I couldn't help but be amused. The bank which sponsored the ad surely knew what food tickles the taste buds of people around here.
What is Crispy Pata?
It is a Filipino food delicacy that is almost staple fare when there is a celebration or occasion like fiestas, weddings, birthdays, parties, or when a fun-loving group of work-tired people gather to loosen up and relax. It is best served as pulutan with the usual rounds of beer and heavy drinks.
The problem is that it is a cardiologist's nightmare for his patient as crispy pata is rich in fat. Choosing a younger pig or cooking it in an oven instead of deep-frying probably helps in lessening the fatty load, but still, if your fat profile is way above normal, it is not good to indulge and ignore the potential harmful consequences later.
So, will people be tempted to sign in and apply for a credit card that offers FREE crispy pata as incentive?
I don't know. What do you think?

sana gift check sa barrio fiesta para pwede ring umorder ng bagoong na may sawsawang kare-kare.
That is really amusing. When other banks give you free give aways such as umbrella, pen, cap, mug, passport holder, etc with their logo inscribed, or wave 1-year membership fee, this one surely knows its way to the Filipino heart...food! And not just any food but something that we all like. It's simply torture! :)
Back to the question. I think yes. If it's credit card, people will flock to the bank. :)
