GLORIA GIVES AWAY MONEY

That was the accusation hurled against the incumbent president by presidential opponent candidate Panfilo Lacson, Senator and former Philippine National Police Chief.

Lacson accused President Arroyo giving away P20,000 each to municipal mayors, P10,000 to barangay chairmen and yet undisclosed amounts to barangay councilmen. There is even a report that calamity funds of the National Disaster Coordinating Agency, amounting to about P100 million, have been diverted to Arroyo's campaign.

Arroyo is not in position for show. Everyone knows she will do everything in her power to win the May elections.

To believe otherwise is to be naïve.
