Tag Sunday: Books!

"Books to the ceiling,
Books to the sky,
My pile of books are a mile high.
How I love them! How I need them!
I'll have a long beard by the time I read them.
"

Books that changed your life? - Imitation of Christ by Thomas Kempis, Dark Night of the Soul by St. John of the Cross, and The Problem of Pain by C. S. Lewis.

Books you have read more than once? - Count of Monte Cristo by Alexander Dumas, Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, and L'Idiot by Fyodor Dostoyevsky.

Books you would want on a desert island? Bill Bryson's A Short History of Nearly Everything and Thomas Pynchon's Gravity's Rainbow.

One book that made you laugh? - Kill as Few Patients as Possible by Oscar London.

One book that made you cry? - Somerset Maugham's The Moon and the Sixpence.

One book you wish you had written? - Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini.

One book you wish had never been written? - Remembrance of Things Past by Marcel Proust. Too long.

One book you are currently reading? - scroll down to the right lower panel of this blog to find out.

One book you have been meaning to read? - This Is Your Brain on Music: The Science of a Human Obsession

Thanks to Ipanema for this tag. I love books! I can't live without them. And yes, I have a stash of unread books that would probably take me more than 3 lifetimes to finish. *LOL*

For the next book tag, I'm sending these to fellow book lovers Jules, May, Duke, Nikki, and Anicee.

Read the book, Sachiko. It's a load of laughs. 'Doing fine in spite of work.

Thanks again, Ipanema. Sometimes it's also about passion. When time is scarce (it always is, btw!), passion compensates. ;)

DUKE: Buy the book and read it now. Medyo mahaba sya pero maaliw ka naman. Mas less serious ang approach nya kesa kay Stephen Hawking.

BONGK: Yes, sir. Hanapin ko yang Teacher Man mo dito sa stash ko.

MAY: Salamat din. Yes, so far, so good. Di pa nakakahalata mga spambots, so far. Sana nga tuloy-tuloy na ito

I'm impressed at the fantastic (and well-rounded) choices you have dr. emer. Sana more doctors are wide-readers like you. Yung batchmate ko nun doesn't read fiction; instead, she reads medbooks only.

i love WS Maugham especially his collected short stories (get it!!! especially vol 1 or 4).. i'll try getting his Sixpence book.. anything he dishes out are a terrific insight into the human psyche.

(p.s. how does a tag go? mejo nahihirapan ko sa mga ganito hehehe... )

Thanks for the Maugham tip. I'll to get those pag may time. Kaya mo itong book tag. Just copy the categories and fill in your choices. Ikaw na lang yata sa mga na-tag ko ang hindi nakakagawa.

Kudos nga pala for a job well done!
