What Will You Do For Charity?

A German proverb says that "charity sees the need, and not the cause." Sir Francis Bacon added that "in charity, there is no excess."

While I agree with the Germans, I must certainly differ with Sir Bacon. I think this kind of charity event is excess. The website even invites would-be participants to break the existing record of 8 hours and 30 minutes. Imagine that!

There are certainly other ways of helping AIDS/HIV patients and advancing women's health initiatives.

Dr. Emer, and just under that article is an ad concerning Madonna's crucifixion.

Why do I feel as if I've stumbled into Aldous Huxley's "Brave New World ... or some badly written "End Times" movie?

I've seen this article a couple of days back and my friend and I were discussing about it.
