Fernando Poe Jr. passed away approximately 45 minutes ago due to multi-organ failure resulting from the stroke attack he suffered Saturday evening. His condition deteriorated late this afternoon, and doctors had to put him on life support.
Dr Aquino, his attending neurologist, pronounced him dead at 12:01 am this morning. His official statement said that "aggressive resuscitative measure and therapeutics were initiated" to no avail. He also clarified that no surgical intervention was done on Mr. Fernando Poe, Jr., as this was not even warranted.
According to reliable sources, he passed away after a close friend whispered to his ear that his only daughter had just arrived from the US and is on the way to the hospital.
