"Creative people are often considered to be attractive and get lots of attention as a result," Dr Nettle said. "It could also be that very creative types lead a Bohemian lifestyle and tend to act on more sexual impulses and opportunities, often purely for experience's sake, than the average person would.
"Moreover, it's common to find that this sexual behaviour is tolerated in creative people. Partners, even long-term ones, are less likely to expect loyalty and fidelity from them."
The study supports a theory put forward by evolutionist Geoffrey Miller, in his 2001 book The Mating Mind, that artistic ability may have evolved as a form of human sexual display.
He believed artistic men were more likely to be promiscuous than women, yet Dr Nettle's study, conducted with Helen Keenoo of the Open University, found no differences.

How true is this, Tito Rolly? (Tito Rolly is my good friend who paints and plays the guitar like a master).
It seems logical to me. Creativity and sexuality. I think they go together. The drive to look more attractive for both genders supports the initiative to propagate the species. This is like the male peacock in full plumage trying to attract a possible partner. Of course, in humans, the reasons may be complex and varied.
Is there a causal relationship between creativity and sexuality? Do sexual desires urge people to be more creative? Or does creativity make people more sexual? More studies are needed to explore these aspects.

Looking at the track record of my friends who are creative and "not" creative... hmmm... there is a little bit of truth in this haha!
Really, Toni? Hmmmm, those two traits really go together.
Funny that until recently, there is really no scientific study that showed the causes why sexuality seem to be high on people with high artistic inclination. In my observation, artistic people really do tend to be more active sexually. Most of the famous artists I 've known had such sexually-infused biographies that somehow, sex and arts seem to go together well.
Congtrats to your nomination Doc and good luck.
wish ko lang, totoo to! hahaha
I don't live a bohemian lifestyle, nor am I that sexually active. Not that I am a prude but honestly, I've not had more partners in bed after my wife. maybe I'm not that creative, no? Sana, kasi the next thing is that I am not that handsome or appealing to women e. hahaha
for someone who strongly believes in monogamy, this is a sorry excuse to be promiscuous. and if one is sexually active and he is not artistic or creative, for sure there will be a study that will give him/her an excuse.
hmmmnn... I wonder how true this is..kawawa naman yung mga non creative!
